Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. We have the receipts. Please go to http://www.fas.org/irp/congress/2002_cr/s092002.html (Page S8987-S8998 of September 20, 2002 [Senate] Congressional Record). It would do well for you to memorize the respective symptomologies because privateers, like Bechtel, may have secretly recovered the remnant WMDs that Hussein used on Iranians and Iraqis opposed to his regime and put them back on the market.
The real reason for Gulf War II has always been obvious. We will "stay the course" until every drop of oil and blood is extracted. America is not wrongly perceived as a consumerist oil glutting "pre fab" and "throw away" society. Although qualified leadership talent like Dr. Aiham Al Sammarae ( See http://www.mideasti.org/articles/doc397.html ) and others were available we never pre fabricated an interim Iraqi government comprised of qualified Iraqi exiles before we took Saddam off the Board supports the growing view that the actual US mission was to become an occupying colonial force in the Middle East. While Saddam is safe performing in protective custody and bin Laden has free reign in drumming up business for the Military Industrial Complex, Bechtel ( and the bin Ladens ) have been given US contracts to rebuild Iraq ( see http://www.angelfire.com/zine2/DionysianUnderground/bechtel.htm ) .
IRONICALLY, IT WAS A REPUBLICAN THAT WARNED US.
"The conjunction of an immense military establishment and a huge arms
industry is new in the American experience. The total influence --economic,
political, and even spiritual-- is felt in every city, every state house,
and every office of the federal government . . . In the councils of government.
We must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether
sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex."
- President Dwight D. Eisenhower in his January 17, 1961 Farewell Address
to the Nation
SPREADING MOB-OCRACY
I served as a Navy Hospital Corpsman during the Vietnam War. After
the war I found myself assisting psychologically & physically disabled
Vietnam Vets. I am therefore aware of the real long term costs of our present
"democratic experiment" in Iraq which will not be salved with the token
"SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" red, white & blue and sometimes yellow conscience
band-aid ribbons slapped on the back of gas guzzlers. ( I can't even begin
to think about the Iraqis killed & mutilated in our democratization
experiment that has done nothing more than create a permanent, unfixable
power vacuum in Iraq. ) If Americans had any idea what democracy requires
of it's citizens we would not have found ourselves in Vietnam or Iraq.
We have squandered our democratic options in abdication to the Novus Ordo
Seclorem ( See http://www.rense.com/general30/cart.htm
) which is a dictatorship comprised of 30 second sound bytes of greed,
convenience, and expediency.
DEMOCRACY IS NOT A RIGHT OR A PRIVILEGE. IT IS A RESPONSIBILITY.
I am therefore very concerned about America's long term commitment
toward disabled veterans especially in view of The Bush-Clinton Cartel
( See http://www.jfkmurdersolved.com/letters.htm
) corporate raiding and plundering of pensions and Social Security as well
as an insurmountable National Deficit against future generations in order
to pay for their wars and other shenanigans ( See http://www.tomflocco.com/fs/SecretServIntelSay.htm
) . I assure you that this scenario will not make the world a safer place
for anyone... not even the very criminals that are creating it.
WRAP YOUR YELLOW RIBBONS AROUND THIS.
Administration officials said President Bush's budget will more than
double veteran prescription co-payments and require some to pay a $250
annual fee for the privilege of using government health care. Richard B
Fuller, Legislative (and National Service) Director of Paralyzed Veterans
of America says that the proposed budget will not address the increasing
numbers of participants or the burgeoning related health care costs. The
enrollment fee is a health care tax designed to raise revenue and discourage
veterans from enrolling. Mr. Fuller added that the budget would force veteran
hospitals and clinics to limit services. "We are already seeing an increase
in waiting lists, even for some Iraq veterans." In Michigan alone thousands
of veterans are on waiting lists for medical services, and some reservists
returning from Iraq have been unable to obtain the medical care they were
promised. A veteran's clinic in Pontiac put a limit on new enrollment.
Cutbacks at a veteran's hospital in Altoona, Pa., are forcing some veterans
to seek treatment elsewhere. The budget would also close or scale back
veterans hospitals. - From 2/7/05 New York Times
AND THIS... "The plan, clearly meant to generate revenues (at the expense of veterans)... This latest DoD Program Budget Decision [PBD] action is just another of a series of attacks by this Administration on retiree benefits. We have been able to thwart most of the attacks by convincing Congress to stop them. The new PBD pharmacy plan follows an unsuccessful attempt to charge most military retirees a $1,200 deductible for care at VA facilities..." - James D. Staton, Executive Director, Air Force Sergeants Association
GULF WAR I STATISTICS
The United States Department of Veterans Affairs' Veterans Benefit
Administration Office report recognizes in the May 2002 report that a total
of 262,586 individuals are "disabled veterans" due to duty in Gulf War
I and that 10,617 veterans have died of combat related injuries or illnesses
since the initiation of Gulf War I during August 1990. The VA still has
claims from 23,612 individuals pending while they have denied benefits
to 24,011 veterans. Since the cessation of Gulf War I an additional 8013
veterans have died from service connected injuries and exposures incurred
during Operations Desert Shield & Desert Storm. Needless to say...
Gulf War II promises to dwarf its predecessor.
WE HAVE SOWN THE WIND
As far as the war on terrorism is concerned... Unless you look upon
the disfigured faces of the thousands of Iraqis and Iranians that survived
the holocaust of chemical weapons provided to Saddam by the United States
and it's partners you can never truly know the nature of real terror. It
is this terror that will ultimately drive the Iranians and others to attempt
to seek desperate and nuclear last-line defenses against the US and US
supported aggressors who have stated their own nuclear options. Unless
you look upon the disfigured faces of the thousands of Japanese that survived
the holocaust of nuclear weapons dropped by the United States you can never
truly know the nature of real terror.
WEAPONS USED AGAINST US
On April 19, 1995, around 9:03 a.m., just after parents dropped their
children off at day care at the Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma
City, the unthinkable happened. Who was it that sponsored Gulf War I veteran
Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols frequent trips to meet with Trade Center
bombers in the Philippines and OK City ( See http://www.tomflocco.com/fs/SecretServIntelSay.htm
)? Who picked up the motel tab where McVeigh, Nichols and Al-Hussaini
were seen together & was later visited (pre-9/11) by Mohamed Atta,
Zacharias Moussaouy and Marwan Al-Shehi ( The registered flight school
students )? See http://www.jaynadavis.com/story.html
) . Perhaps McVeigh's death certificate reveals the answer ( See http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/mcveighcert1.html
) . His Occupation: "Soldier". His Employer: "US Army" ( Yet he supposedly
left the US Army back in 1993 ) .
The Federation of American Scientists (F.A.S.) reports that for fiscal year 2001, the US government exported $12.2 billion in weapons and was awarded $13.1 billion in new foreign contracts through its Foreign Military Sales program. That excludes the $36 billion in direct commercial sales by US weapons manufacturers to foreign nations. F.A.S. indicates that the weapons industry is second only to the US agricultural industry in its receipt of US taxpayer subsidies. And the Center for Defense Information reports that "some countries receiving US weapons and/or training continue to recruit children for their official armed forces. Thus, the United States is supplying arms and military aid to countries where children are used as soldiers (or bombs)." (And including known terrorist supporting countries under the cloak of National Security.)
DOING THE RIGHT THING
The Bush Oiligarchy has shown us in the last 2 elections that REAL
POWER IS TAKEN. Not given. Not voted. Only when Americans take back control
of their government will the Iraqis know how it is done ( Or perhaps it
is they who will teach us. In 1768 a small band of Boston "agitators" became
part of a growing movement to drive out foreign occupiers. The rest is
history. ) . Representave Murtha is calling for the immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq (
See http://democracyrising.us/content/view/368/151
) . A protracted disengagement of our troops will not work because there
are insidious feces that will cause remnant troop casualties so as to draw
us back in. We must have the resolve to end the war that is equal to those
who are raking in trillions of dollars to "STAY THE COURSE". Credit must
be given the senators that opposed Bush's murderous agenda starting
with Senator Paul Wellstone, the strongest, most persistent, most articulate
and most vocal Senate opponent of the Bush administration. We need an independent
investigation into the death of Paul Wellstone and family. ( See
http://www.alternet.org/story/14399
) . Other stout hearts were Daniel Akaka (D-HI), Jeff Bingaman (D-NM), Barbara Boxer
(D-CA), Robert Byrd (D-WV), Lincoln Chafee (R-RI), Kent Conrad (D-ND), Jon Corzine (D-NJ), Mark Dayton (D-MN), Richard Durbin
(D-IL), Russell Feingold (D-WI), Robert Graham (D-FL), Daniel Inouye (D-HI),
James Jeffords (I-VT), Edward Kennedy (D-MA), Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Carl
Levin (D-MI), Barbara Mikulski (D-MD), Patty Murray (D-WA), Jack Reed (D-RI),
Paul Sarbanes (D-MD), Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), Ron Wyden (D-OR) . The House
of Representatives supported 'The Spiral of Violence' 420-1, with Barbara
Lee being the lone voice of opposition. Contact federal representives and let them know your position on the war.
